Thank you to the new individuals who have stepped up to be part of the board and thank you to everyone that has dedicated time to the board over the years, it is truly appreciated. We currently are still looking for someone to work with the treasurer Candice as this will be her last year on the board. Candice is willing to work with someone for the season to help with the transition to treasurer.

This year there has been an adjustment to the raffle given the current situation and the uncertainty as to when travel will be allowed. We have switched the raffle to a cash prize. Please stay tuned for the value of this raffle in the coming weeks. This year we are implementing a reduction in fees with early registrations, if you register prior to July 31, 2020 you will save $50. Registering early will save you some money and will help the association gather numbers to better prepare for the season. To attract new athletes to the sport of ringette this year, the fees have been adjusted to $99. This will better allow families and athletes to take the opportunity to try ringette without having to incur a large financial hit. This is applicable to all athletes from Active start to U14.

Registration for SPRA will be moving to a new platform; this new platform is RAMP. If you currently have a RAMP account you will not be required to make a new one. When selecting the appropriate age division for your child please select the correct one. You will be required to upload a proof of age for your athlete so please have a birth certificate or passport available.

SPRA was recognized by a prominent figure in the ringette community Phyllis Sadoway. We were awarded the Phyllis Sadoway Development award for our dedication towards presenting ringette to our community with the Learn to Play program. We also have two members within SPRA that were recognized by RAB, Jackie Day and Ann MacTaggart. Jackie received the Ringette Excellence award which is given to an individual who have made significant contributions towards showcasing ringette and outstanding achievment as a volunteer supporting and improving the sport of ringette. Ann received the Board Service award which recognizes long-serving board members that have provided Ringette Alberta with outstanding volunteer service. Ann has been a member of the RAB Board of Directors for five years.

As more information becomes available with regards to a return to play plan from Ringette Alberta, we will be passing that along to you all. We look forward to seeing you all back in the rink. Have a great summer.
